FIM - MOVING SMARTLY ALONG The 2007 Endurance World Championship
provisional calendar now comprises six events: the 6 Hours of Albacete, on May
5, and the 24 Hours of Oschersleben, on August 11/12, have been confirmed. The 2007 calendar is HERE CRIKEY! - I'M FAMOUS! It seems that age hasn't changed me - I'm still as ugly as ever (sigh). I've just been sent a small video clip so I've just found out that I'm an exhibit in the Macau Grand Prix Museum...but I'm in good company, alongside Carl Fogarty...
ZWEITZE ROOSKE - HE'S OFFICIAL AGAIN...
It's been confirmed that Rooske Ohlins will be the official Ohlins service for World Endurance in 2007, along with developing parts specifically for endurance - all those extra reports Rooske will have to make back to Ohlins Sweden just to make sure you all get something special, the slaving into the small hours, the extra homework over the weekends, the illuminated charts and graphs to draw up, the sage advice dispensed in sonorous tones by the wise magician 'Rooske The Blue And Yellow' from Ohlins Tower - actually, a new truck that he should be getting soon....
NO MORE NOWLAND WEBSITE Well, we heard it was going to happen and now there's no more official WarwickNowlandDOTcom - but Warwick Nowland is playing his cards pretty close at the moment. His website is no more...and we're waiting to see what is happening to the former World Endurance Champion... 2007...IT'S GOOD...IT'S BAD...IT'S GOOD...IT'S BAD... We all were waiting for the F.I.M. and FGSPORT to come to a decision...now it's made and the proposed calendar looks promising...but you may have noticed that I've not yet put up a 2007 calendar, there being still no official confirmation of Zolder...and there are mutterings that, with the new French National Superbike Championship being televised and with the Japanese factories being involved, maybe some World Endurance teams are re-thinking their options for the forthcoming season. I presume that, once again, the lack of any information (regarding venues, any official World Endurance website, proposals from any circuits regarding promotion - or any TV coverage outside of Le Mans, the Bol and Suzuka) is the reason for these doubts about the forthcoming season starting up again. It'll probably all change again when we receive some concrete information...until then, speculation goes on... RIDE WANTED! With the demise of the Shell Endurance Academy team, Damian 'Demon' Rowley has found himself with time on his hands for the 2007 season and is now back in the market for a ride...and remember, he has a Mitsubishi Warrior to support... WORLD ENDURANCE - LATEST NEWS 3rd December - Zweitze Rooske will again be
the official factory service for Ohlins in 2007. ...one day I'll have enough time to get around to creating drop-down menus...I'm running out of margin space... 1st December - Kawasaki France have been busy over the past few weeks - and have been able to sign Britain's Steve Plater to contest the 2007 World Endurance Championship. It's also possible that another very well regarded French rider has also be appropriated by the team - more news when I get it..and rumours are flying that the team run by Christian Bourgeois may be getting a Pirelli tyre contract, as their test rider Pere Riba has a lot of experience with them from his work with the MSS Discovery Kawasaki team in British Supersport.
